Hallowe'en Minimalist Poster Series

Series of 13 Minimalist Hallowe'en Posters

Hallowe'en has been my favourite "holiday", or, time of year, I suppose, since I was a young boy.  So I decided this year to try and capture some of the iconic imagery in a miminalist poster series.  I will be posting a new poster here each day, from Oct 19th, through to the 31st.  Scroll below to see the posters, and to read more about what Hallowe'en means to me.
Hallowe'en has always captured my imagination.  But it wasn't because of the candy, or the parties. My love of Hallowe'en stems completely from my childhood.  I think for me it started in elementary school, and the decorations that would be put up both in the classroom and in yards around the neighbourhood.  There was a kind of mix of scary and cute that really spoke to me.  I have always liked that juxtaposition, and you can see it present in the majority of the comics I have done (Scratch Comics, and Last Words, especially).

Between the imagery, and the smell of the air at this time of year, and the Hallowe'en specials that would play on TV, everything came together and made Hallowe'en a treasured time of year for me.  To this day, nothing makes me happier than to be inside drawing Hallowe'en images, while a Hallowe'en special or movie is on, and the wind and rain are whipping against the windows outside.

Stay tuned for the rest of the series, as well as a few other goodies.
